Content of the agreements The essential element of each agreement is trade in goods (including the reduction of tariffs and other trade restrictions). These rules govern trade in industrial products (HS Chapter 25-97), fish and processed agricultural products. Trade in unprocessed agricultural products tends to be governed by separate bilateral agricultural agreements. The opening of the Pro Helvetia liaison office of the Swiss Cultural Foundation in New Delhi in 2007 gave further impetus to cultural relations between Switzerland and India. Free trade agreements aim to improve trade relations with important partners around the world. The aim is to eliminate or at least minimise obstacles to international markets for the Swiss economy. Tariffs and non-tariff barriers (e.g. (B technical rules, packaging and labelling rules, import quotas) will be abolished. An approved exporter may, in all agreements, make country of origin declarations on account, regardless of the value of the consignment. These do not need to be signed by hand. the exporter must obtain authorization from the competent district customs office; Such authorisation shall be granted provided that the applicant guarantees that he complies with the provisions of the country of origin and that he has submitted correct country of origin declarations in the past. Types of cumulation: bilateral cumulation: only with matters of both (bilateral) partners (e.g.B. Switzerland-Japan or EFTA-Colombia). Diagonal cumulation: possible with materials from several free trade partners, provided that all apply the same country of origin rules (e.g. EU.B-EFTA-Turkey). Euro-Med cumulation: it is also possible to do this with materials originating in the Mediterranean countries, provided that all the free trade partners concerned apply the same country of origin rules and that there are agreements between them. Participating countries: Egypt, Algeria, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as the Faroe Islands. With effect from 1 January 2012, the following Western Balkan countries were also included in the Euro-Med cumulation area: Albania, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia. Cumulation is not yet possible for trade with the EU, nor does it apply to agricultural products listed in Chapters 1 to 24. Export licences and provisional allocations issued under the validity of an earlier agreement cannot therefore be encumbered on quotas covered by a new agreement, even if export or payments can be made for the goods concerned during the new term of the contract. . . .
